  • 1 In-Person Day per Week (Thursdays: 9am to 4pm)

  • 1 Online Evening per Week (Mondays: 6pm to 9pm)

  • + 3 Saturday Intensives (across 12 months)


Work Experience Hours: 

Up to 50 Hours at the Parramatta Eels


Guest Speaker Sessions: 

Up to 12 Sessions with Parramatta Eels Staff



Course Overview


What does this course focus on?

In the Diploma of Project Management, you’ll learn how to plan, coordinate and deliver projects within a professional sporting environment. This includes learning how to:

  • Define the objectives of a project.

  • Manage project timelines and budgets.

  • Engage project stakeholders.

  • Respond to project risk.


In the Diploma of Leadership and Management, you’ll build the leadership, communication and decision-making skills required to drive initiatives within a professional sporting context. You’ll learn how to:


  • Work with different stakeholders.

  • Effectively manage people and teams.

  • Contribute to operational plans that fuel growth.


Your course content across both Diplomas will also be taught through the lens of a real-life, industry initiative: NRL in Vegas. Throughout your studies, you’ll simulate what it’s like to project manage and lead the Parramatta Eels going to Vegas.



What can I do when I’ve completed this dual diploma?

By undertaking both qualifications, you’ll develop a complementary skillset across project delivery and leadership that may support employment opportunities across:


  1. Game Day & Event Planning - Contribute to the planning and delivery of small-to-large-scale events or initiatives within a professional sporting club.

  2. Community & High Performance Operations - Assist with the coordination of people, resources and activities that fuel a sporting club's community and/or high performance departments.

  3. Partnerships, Marketing & Commercial Teams - Support with sponsorship delivery, fan engagement campaigns and consumer operations.


This course may also provide a pathway into further university study in areas such as:


  • Commerce

  • Business

  • Project Management

  • Event Management

  • Marketing and Communications


TAFE Queensland, through its network of partner universities, may provide articulation pathways that students can utilise to seek credit towards certain Bachelor degrees, with the potential to receive up to one year of advanced standing, subject to university entry requirements and approval.

According to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook service, there are expected to be around 60,000 job openings for contract, program and project administrators over the next five years. Employers are looking for qualified candidates who can communicate effectively and manage relationships - the exact skills you’ll build through this program and your experience with the Parramatta Eels.
