What does this course focus on?
In this Diploma of Sport (Coaching), you’ll learn how to develop and deliver high-performance coaching programs within a professional sporting context. You'll learn how to:
Coordinate health and wellness programs.
Apply sport psychology principles.
Utilise emotional intelligence to maximise outcomes.
In the Diploma of Project Management, you’ll learn how to plan, coordinate and deliver projects within a professional sporting environment. This includes learning how to:
Define the objectives of a project.
Manage project timelines and budgets.
Engage project stakeholders.
Respond to project risk.
What can I do when I’ve completed this dual diploma?
By undertaking both qualifications, you’ll develop a complementary skillset across coaching and project delivery that may support employment opportunities across:
Game Development - Contribute to the growth of Rugby League and other sports by supporting grassroots, school or community programs.
Game Day & Event Planning - Contribute to the planning and delivery of small-to-large-scale events or initiatives within a professional sporting club.
Pathways Programs - Assist with the coordination of junior-rep teams and competitions across Rugby League and other sports.
This course may also provide a pathway into further university study in areas such as:
Business
Commerce
Project Management
Event Management
Marketing and Communications
TAFE Queensland, through its network of partner universities, may provide articulation pathways that students can utilise to seek credit towards certain Bachelor degrees, with the potential to receive up to one year of advanced standing, subject to university entry requirements and approval.
